esterhazy castleWe will admire the fantastic castle of Prince Esterhazy. We will show you romantic villages like Mörbisch and Rust with their numerous wine cellars. Both culture and wine lovers will be very happy with this trip. The highlights are:

Esterhazy Castle and the Bergkirche. Eisenstadt is the first stop on our trip. We will visit the main residence of the powerful and aristocratic Esterhazy family. The castle is completely preserved and furnished. Here, the composer Joseph Haydn started his fantastic career and also spent most of his life. The next stop is at the Bergkirche (Berg Church) with the mausoleum of Joseph Haydn.

ziehbrunnen_pusztaRust and Moerbisch.Rust is also called "the town of storks", because it is home to many of them nesting on the town rooftops. The city fascinates every visitor with its architectural beauty and enchanting atmosphere. Moerbisch is a picturesque village with narrow streets which are decorated with flowers and oleander. The world's greatest operetta festival, named "Moerbischer Seefestspiele" is held here. This very impressive open air event takes place on the lake every summer.

Lake Neusiedl. It is a steppe lake, a national park and a World Heritage Site straddling the Austrian-Hungarian border. It is a swimming, surfing and sailing paradise for summer sports lovers. Its specific microclimate favours viticulture. This lake is also called the "bathtub of the Viennese" as it is located very close to Vienna. We will drive around the lake or cross it by boat (depending on season and water level) and then proceed to Halbturn Castle, the last stop of our trip.

schloss halbturn
Halbturn
Castle. It is another palace of the imperial family Habsburg. Halbturn Castle was a hunting lodge for the imperial family during the summer period and is still privately owned by a noble family. For those interested, there is a guided tour of the wine cellar together with wine tasting.
